Ask

The ask_user capability presents a focused question with distinct options and tradeoffs. The answer is appended to session state and resumes the blocked operation.

When to ask

• Two valid approaches have materially different product or security consequences.
• A destructive action requires operator intent.
• Required information is not available through the workspace, configuration, or tools.

When not to ask

Do not ask the operator to locate files, choose established repository conventions, repeat known configuration, or confirm ordinary reversible work the active policy already permits.
