Lem is a native macOS research workspace for discovering papers, opening local or remote sources, reading section by section, and preserving authorship, citation, and account context.

Product contract

  • The SwiftUI application owns the native window, paper library, filters, reader, and account surfaces.
  • Papers come from the Lem registry and may point to local files, GitHub, Overleaf, or multiple sources.
  • The reader overlays authorship provenance when available and can switch between full-paper and section-focused workflows.
  • Model-powered enrichment is optional and appears as cited research context rather than replacing the paper source.
